Functional Skills Qualifications have been designed to help young people and adults develop practical skills in English and Mathematics.

The qualifications are often a central part of a learner’s programme of study. They form a key part of apprenticeships and are also often studied alongside other vocational learning programmes. These subjects are frequently cited by employers as essential when recruiting staff.

Our Functional Skills (Reforms) exams are available at

Level 1 and Level 2 and are accredited by Open Awards.  Open Awards is an Awarding Organisation approved by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) - the regulatory body who regulate qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.

We chose to partner with Open Awards as our awarding body because they are a registered charity and not for profit organisation, who are passionate about their mission to change lives through learning.
