What issues can the counsellor help our pupils with?
There can be lots of pressures growing up, for example friendships, teasing and bullying, exams and school work, family relationships, separations and changes, as well as illness, loss or death of someone close. Pupils also have to cope with adolescence and the strong feelings and physical changes that go with it. The time and space that they get from counselling helps them feel better, and cope better at home and in school.
How many sessions do we need to book?
All counselling sessions are 50 mins long. Initially they are set up once a week, for a period of six weeks. At the end of the six week period, the counsellor and pupil will agree if a further six sessions would be beneficial.
Where does the counselling take place?
Counselling takes place either online or on-site in a quiet room within your school. It can be booked for a pupil in addition to our tuition or as a stand alone service.
Outreach Tuition counsellors are trained for this special type of work and are professionally managed and supervised on a regular basis. They work closely with Outreach Tuition staff and other agencies. All counsellors work within a recognised professional code of ethics -BACP'S (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and are fully qualified.
How is it funded?
Funding tends to be sourced from the pupil premium or higher needs funding available to the child. We then invoice your school accounts department on a monthly basis.
How much does it cost?
Our fifty min online rate for a fully qualified counsellor is £55 plus VAT. If you would prefer to have a counsellor available to your pupils within your school, we also offer a more cost effective day rate of £250 plus VAT (max. 5 pupils).
How quickly can the counselling be set up?
We aim to have counselling in place within
48 hours of booking.
