We are recruiting a part time tutor due to expansion of the company. The successful applicant will provide one to one tuition as part of an education package to children and young people out of full-time education, on a temporary or permanent basis, in a variety of localities near Maidstone and other areas of Kent.
The education package we provide is completely bespoke, holistic, and tailored to each child’s needs and is usually an interim service for children and young people in Key Stages 2-4. These young people are without a school place due to exclusions; or will have Special Educational Needs (SEND) and an EHC Plan, who are awaiting a place at a named specialist provision. They require specialist one to one support in preparation for accessing identified onward education provision.
Whilst you will be contractually based in Maidstone, you will be required to provide tuition in a variety of locations in other nearby areas of Kent. The ability to travel (by car ideally) in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day in accordance with the needs of the job is required.
The wellbeing and inclusivity of our cohort is integral to the delivery of the service. The whole team focus is on delivering child-centred academic activities while supporting and improving educational outcomes. You will plan and deliver personalised, relevant academic focused activities to pupils within a tailored programme to meet their unique needs.
You will be a passionate individual, experienced in delivering positive outcomes, who can support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, including those with SEND. We are seeking candidates who are motivated, dependable, empathetic, and keen to rise to the daily challenges of supporting and championing vulnerable learners. You will require excellent people skills, including the ability to manage challenging situations, and the ability to communicate clearly and successfully both verbally and on written records and for our short online daily reports.
This post is considered by Outreach Tuition to be primarily a face-to-face role, starting in September 2023.
As part of the interview process, you may be required to attend a face to face interview at our premises in central Maidstone, detailed below. Prior to any meeting we would expect all candidates to visit our website and familiarise themselves with our company ethos:
Closing date for applications - 18th August 2023
Interviews held - w/c 21st August 2023
